The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Team Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or experienced Front of House Manager who is ready to take the next step into their first General Manager position.

We are looking for someone who is articulate, polished, highly organised and exceptionally attentive to detail. This is a small but mighty pub and restaurant with rooms, where standards really matter and the guest experience is at the heart of everything they do.

Having recently been recognised with an AA Award for Inn of the Year, this is a business with an excellent reputation and a real commitment to quality.

About the Role
As General Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the property, leading from the front and ensuring that every guest receives an exceptional experience.

You will be particularly strong on Front of House delivery, with the confidence and personality to engage with guests, lead your team and maintain the high standards expected from an award-winning venue.

You will have a great team around you, but you will be the person who ensures that everything is working seamlessly — from the moment guests arrive, throughout their dining experience and through to their departure.

Your Responsibilities
Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pub, restaurant and rooms.
Lead, motivate and develop the Front of House team.
Deliver an outstanding and genuinely warm guest experience.
Maintain exceptional standards of service, presentation and attention to detail.
Ensure the site is always clean, organised and presented to an excellent standard.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is delivered to the highest possible standard.
Oversee service, ensuring consistency and attention to detail at every stage.
Manage rotas, staffing, training and performance.
Take responsibility for stock, ordering, banking and other operational procedures.
Monitor standards across the business and proactively resolve any issues.
Build strong relationships with both guests and the wider team.
Lead by example and create a positive, professional working environment.
Ensure all company, health & safety and licensing procedures are followed.
Help drive the continued success and reputation of this already highly regarded business.
About You
We are looking for someone who takes huge pride in what they do.

You may not have held the title of General Manager before — and that’s absolutely fine. What matters is that you have the experience, personality, maturity and ambition to step up.

You will ideally be:

An experienced Team Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager or Front of House Manager.
Exceptionally strong when it comes to guest service and Front of House delivery.
Articulate, confident and naturally personable.
Extremely well organised with a genuine eye for detail.
Someone who notices the little things and takes pride in getting them right.
A strong people manager who knows how to motivate and develop a team.
Commercially aware and comfortable with the usual operational responsibilities.
Hands-on and happy to lead from the front.
Passionate about food, service and hospitality.
Someone who genuinely cares about the guest experience.
Ambitious and ready to make their first move into General Management.
Why This Role?
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has been waiting for the right business to give them their first General Manager opportunity.

The venue is small but mighty, with an excellent reputation, a fantastic location in Leeds and, most importantly, a team and business where you can genuinely make your mark.

With the recent AA Inn of the Year recognition, standards are high — but so is the opportunity to become part of something really special.
